She has a won a Blue Ribbon award from Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, was a finalist with Camel Back Gallery, Juried into exhibitions at Anita Rogers Gallery in New York, Ford Gallery, PDX Open Studios, Celebration of Creativity and has been in Art in the Village Gallery and Robin Becic Gallery. To say I am honored to host this incredible artist, and I am blessed to say is my friend and loves Milwaukie as much as I do!
Cold wax painting is a versatile and expressive medium that combines the richness of oil paints with the textural possibilities of wax. This technique involves mixing cold wax medium—a soft, pliable wax that remains workable at room temperature—with oil paints to create a range of effects. You will use tools like palette knives, scrapers, to build layers, carve into the surface, or create patterns. The wax adds body to the paint.
As part of this workshop you will receive a take home kit of palette knives, scrapers and oil paint along with a link to purchase your own cold wax. (We will provide wax during the workshop for you to work with) and of course your first 9x12 painting in cold wax. - for clarity you will paint a second layer on your own, we will send you home with enough wax to finish your painting. Please email us if you have questions about this.
The workshop will begin at 10:00 am please make sure you arrive on time, we don't want you to miss a step. We will wrap up between 1:00 & 2:00 pm
